This project explores the use of color, texture, and shading through a detailed still life study. The drawing focuses on accurately capturing the form and surface quality of an organic object while introducing color to enhance realism and depth.

Using layered color techniques, I built up values to represent highlights, midtones, and shadows. Subtle color variations—such as warm and cool tones—were applied to reflect how light interacts with the object’s surface. The textured lines and gradual blending help create a sense of volume and material, emphasizing the natural patterns and details of the subject.

This project allowed me to develop stronger control over color application, improve observation skills, and understand how color and value work together to create a more realistic and visually engaging piece.
