This project explores the study of form, shading, and texture through a still life composition. The drawing focuses on accurately representing three-dimensional objects using light and shadow to create depth and realism.

The composition includes a combination of geometric and organic forms, allowing for a deeper understanding of structure and volume. Using a range of pencil values (HB–2B), I developed tonal contrast to define highlights, midtones, and shadows. Special attention was given to how light interacts with different surfaces, helping to create a sense of weight and space.

Throughout the process, I refined my ability to observe details, improve shading techniques, and balance proportions. This project also emphasizes the importance of texture—such as smooth versus rough surfaces—and how it contributes to a more believable and visually engaging drawing.
